Cookbook Committee for the Woods Hole Historical Museum

The Cookbook Committee for the Woods Hole Historical Museum is comprised of nine members:  

·      Charlotte Emans Moore, chair: Art historian; WHHM Steering Committee member; editor of the Woods Hole Children’s School of Science centennial anniversary book Wet Sneakers and Nets (2013) and author of The Woods Hole Woman’s Club (2014)

·      Mary Jo Benjamin: ESL teacher, Falmouth Public Schools

·      Kathy Denham: Licensed clinical social worker/therapist; former WHHM Steering Committee member

·      Arlene Lowenstein: Retired college administrator; former WHHM Steering Committee chair

·      Margaret McCormick: Retired director, Woods Hole Public Library

·      Pamela Rothstein: Director of lifelong learning for the Falmouth Jewish Congregation

·      Deborah Scanlon: Freelance writer and editor; former WHHM executive director

·      P.K. Simonds: Television writer and producer; former WHHM Steering Committee vice chair

·      Sally Piccini, ex-officio: WHHM executive director

The committee solicited diverse support for this new community cookbook, securing submissions from 180 global participants with Woods Hole connections for its 300 recipes, funding from over 65 individuals and nonprofit organizations including the Woods Hole Foundation, as well as corporate sponsorship from Eight Cousins, a local bookshop in Falmouth. The cookbook designer is Woods Hole artist Barbara Mathews Whitehead. She and a number of other local artists provided the cookbook’s illustrations.
