Alex Joy is a food writer, journalist, and culinary educator, who began working in the restaurant industry at age 14. Her recipes and stories have been published in various magazines, including Fine Cooking, Yankee Magazine, and Edible Rhody. She spent six years at Whole Foods Market, first as a cheesemonger and ultimately as a program director, where she created and launched the Culinary Center inside the region’s flagship store in Dedham, Massachusetts.
She has developed hundreds of recipes and led thousands of cooking classes, all with a mission to help regular people become better, more confident home cooks. Alex is a wife and mom of two and resides on the South Shore of Massachusetts. She enjoys sharing her life through food on social media and her blog, A Joy in the Kitchen.
